Foundation’s Crisis Preparedness and Planning Workshop

The Global Foundation for Trans Rights Protection held a three-day Crisis Preparedness and Planning Workshop, bringing together members of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees, staff, and volunteers.

The main objective of the workshop was to strengthen the Foundation’s crisis preparedness, security mechanisms, and capacity to respond to potential risks in a rapid, coordinated, and effective manner.

During the three-day working session, participants mapped and assessed potential risks and threats, with particular attention to challenges that may arise in both online and physical environments.

Participants discussed potential risks related to online harassment, disinformation, digital security, and physical safety, as well as mechanisms for prevention and effective response.

The workshop also focused on developing and strengthening the Foundation’s internal communication and safety protocols. Participants clarified team members’ roles and responsibilities during crisis situations and discussed key emergency response procedures.

Through scenario-based exercises, participants explored different potential crisis situations and developed appropriate response approaches. This process provided an opportunity to assess the Foundation’s existing capacities, identify potential gaps, and define the steps needed to further strengthen organizational preparedness and resilience.

Based on the outcomes of the workshop, the Foundation is developing its Security and Crisis Preparedness Plan, which will serve as an internal framework for preventing, managing, and responding to potential crisis situations in a coordinated manner.

For the Foundation, organizational security and crisis preparedness are essential to ensuring sustainable and effective work. By strengthening our capacities, we aim to foster a safer and more resilient working environment for our team, volunteers, and the communities we work with.
