The Global Foundation for Trans Rights Protection (GTRP) was established in 2020 as the first trans-led foundation in the South Caucasus, Eastern Europe, and Central Asia. Founded by Armenian trans and sex worker activists, GTRP works to strengthen trans communities, sex workers, activists, and the broader trans movement across the region.
GTRP conducts research, organizes community meetings, implements capacity-building programs, advances advocacy initiatives, and collaborates with local and international partners. The Foundation supports the leadership of trans and sex worker communities, promotes human rights, and contributes to building a safer, more inclusive, and more equal society.
At the core of GTRP’s work is a community-led approach. Our team consists of experienced trans and sex worker activists with years of involvement in regional movements, who continue to strengthen cooperation among communities, grassroots initiatives, and organizations across the region.
